Локальные участки земной поверхности, где по неизвестным причинам гибнут или исчезают люди, известны очень давно.
В древности подобные места называли гиблыми, проклятыми или дьявольскими. Сейчас такие аномальные зоны привлекают повышенное внимание ученых и энтузиастов-исследователей, которые пытаются с научной точки зрения объяснить их смертоносные особенности.
До сих пор самой обширной аномальной зоной считается Бермудский треугольник. По приблизительным подсчетам, за последние 150 лет там при таинственных обстоятельствах исчезло не менее 50 судов и 20 самолетов, при этом жертвами треугольника стали около 1000 человек.
А существуют ли подобные опасные аномальные зоны в России? Было бы просто удивительно, если бы при нашей огромной территории не нашлось хотя бы нескольких гиблых мест.
Наиболее известным и наименее загадочным гиблым местом в России является знаменитая Долина смерти на Камчатке, о которой стало известно еще в начале30-х годов XX века, когда охотники, потерявшие собак, наткнулись на их трупы в верховьях реки Гейзерной у подножия вулкана Кихпиныч. Кроме погибших собак на участке примерно около 2 км в длину и от 100 до 300 м в ширину виднелись многочисленные полуразложившиеся туши других животных и птиц. Хотя охотники очень быстро покинули столь зловещее место, они все же поплатились резким ухудшением своего здоровья. Привлеченные слухами о столь необычном месте, на Камчатку двинулись самодеятельные экспедиции. Многие из них, увы, окончились трагически: десятки исследователей-энтузиастов погибли, пытаясь разгадать тайну Долины смерти.
Хотя ученые довольно быстро предположили, что животные и птицы гибли из-за отравления углекислым газом и сероводородом, которые выделялись в результате вулканической деятельности, все же оставались некоторые неясности. Дело в том, что эти газы действуют довольно медленно, и такие крупные животные, как медведи и росомахи, должны были бы успевать покинуть опасную зону. Поражал и тот факт, что, отведав мяса животного, погибшего в долине, почти сразу погиб вполне здоровый медведь. Только в 1982 г. ученым удалось установить, что в вулканических газах в Долине смерти присутствуют высокотоксичные цианистые соединения, которые и вызывали в ряде случаев почти мгновенную гибель животных и птиц.
Если тайну камчатской Долины смерти можно считать разгаданной, то другое гиблое место - Чертово кладбище - в районе впадения реки Ковы в Ангару все еще продолжает смущать умы исследователей. По воспоминаниям старожилов, Чертово кладбище появилось в 1908 г. сразу после падения Тунгусского метеорита. Местным жителям тогда даже пришлось перенести участок дороги, чтобы обезопасить свой скот. Рассказывали, что сначала в этом аномальном месте наблюдали просто дыру в земле, которая со временем была завалена валежником и трупами животных, таким образом, и появилась безжизненная поляна, покрытая костями. После публикации в 1983 г. статьи в журнале "Техника - молодежи" об этом загадочном месте на поиски Чертова кладбища отправились многочисленные самодеятельные экспедиции. Как и в случае с камчатской Долиной смерти, многие энтузиасты заплатили своими жизнями за попытку раскрыть тайну: по оценкам исследователей аномальных явлений, при поисках Чертова кладбища погибло около 70 человек...
В 1991 г. экспедиции Владивостокских уфологов после длительной предварительной подготовки все же удалось найти загадочную поляну. Исследователи обнаружили даже изображение черта со стрелкой-указателем, которое вырезали в свое время при переносе дороги местные жители. При приближении к кладбищу, по рассказу Александра Ремпеля, участника экспедиции, странно повел себя компас, а прибор, регистрирующий электромагнитное излучение, стал показывать максимальное значение.
Исследователи на всякий случай разделились на две группы: одна отправилась к таинственной поляне, другая ее страховала. При приближении к Чертову кладбищу люди стали испытывать странное покалывание во всем теле, прервалась связь со страхующей группой. Поляна оказалась окружена черными безжизненными деревьями, везде виднелись белеющие кости. Были уже сумерки, и исследование решили отложить наследующий день, разбив лагерь в километре от поляны. Увы, утром у ряда участников экспедиции начались столь странные проблемы со здоровьем (онемение тела, опухание суставов, падение зрения), что было решено не рисковать и провести исследование на следующий год.
Однако разразившиеся в стране экономические катаклизмы, к сожалению (а может, и к счастью?), не позволили в финансовом плане организовать новую экспедицию.
Не менее таинственное гиблое место находится в Якутии, упоминания о нем относятся еще к XIX веку. У одного из притоков реки Вилюй сосредоточены странные огромные "медные котлы", достигающие нескольких метров в диаметре. Старые якуты рассказывают, что кроме котлов здесь находится и большое подземное строение со множеством помещений. Тот, кто ночевал в них, вскоре умирал. Один из "котлов" удалось обнаружить самодеятельной экспедиции якутских студентов. Все их попытки взять пробу таинственного металла, из которого был изготовлен "котел", оказались неудачными, он оказался сверхпрочным. Около "котла" росла аномально высокая трава. Позабыв о предупреждении старых якутов, ребята разбили палатку прямо рядом с "котлом". Когда они вернулись из экспедиции, у одного из них выпали волосы на голове, а у другого появились проблемы с кожей. Что собой представляют эти "котлы" - сооружения древней исчезнувшей цивилизации Земли или давно покинутую базу пришельцев из космоса? Это еще предстоит установить.
