На этой неделе, многими интернет изданиями была опубликованна статься "Снимок со спутника нашел в океане Атлантиду!" Последовало официальное опровержение от Google (на чьём сервисе и были найденны снимки древней цивилизации Широта: 31°19'13.62"С Долгота 24°19'4.53"З).
Google объяснила происхождение странного объекта, найденного в Атлантическом океане при помощи сервиса Google Ocean. Прямоугольная структура, которую газета The Sun объявила возможными остатками Атлантиды, на самом деле артефакт, полученный при сборе топографических данных.
Лаура Скотт (Laura Scott), представитель компании Google, объяснила, что информацию о поверхности океана собирают, используя корабли с установленными на них сонарами. Сонары применяются для определения рельефа морского дна. Ровные линии совпадают с траекториям движения кораблей в то время, когда сонары на них включены.
Прямоугольник размером с Московскую область был обнаружен рядом с Канарскими островами в тысяче километров от северо-западного побережья Африки. Ровные линии внутри прямоугольника, пересекающиеся под прямым углом, навели журналистов на мысль, что необычный объект указывает на место затопления легендарного острова Атлантиды.

Мне лично кажется не очень правдоподобным, официальное заявление Лауры Скотт, так как в других местах океана, подобных участков не наблюдается. Что было бы логично, если бы это были артефакты, полученные тем способом о котором говорится в официальном заявлении. Но не стоит отрицать что и журналисты в наше время готовы раздуть из мухи слона, да и компании любители попиарится разными способами! Поэтому выводов относительно этого случая делать никаких не буду.
