Пришла пора описать этот овраг и эти мостики.
От станции «Орехово» Московского метрополитена до оврага и до мостиков рукой подать. Станция расположена в живописном месте — на обширном лугу перед лесом.
Овраг начинается почти прямо на краю того леса, отороченного полосой негустого кустарника. За кустами земля в лесу как бы разламывается, треснув точно спелый арбуз, оседая вниз оврагом. Широченная трещина в ней тянется глубоким разломом на десятки метров, теряясь среди вековечных деревьев. Под их кронами, склоненными над оврагом, виднеются декоративные мостики, перекинутые через этот овраг.
Дугами выгнутые, они расположены на расстоянии приблизительно 100 метров друг от друга. Причем они как бы полуутоплены в овраге, а не перекидываются с одного его верхнего края на другой. Декоративные игрушки, мостики вонзают свои концы в середины противолежащих склонов.
Чтобы ступить на их игриво выгнутые спинки, надо сначала спуститься к ним, прошагав метров десять по крутому склону оврага. Двести лет тому назад по спускам бежали к мостикам изящные лесенки. Их останки скорее угадываются на откосах, нежели бросаются в глаза. Крутизна склонов оврага немалая.
По такому скату автомобиль в принципе сумел бы, наверное, съехать на мост. А вот вытаскивать его оттуда пришлось бы с помощью лебедки: по столь крутому склону он сам не смог бы выехать вверх. Но это — в теории.
На практике же никакой автомобиль вообще не сумел бы приблизиться к оврагу, чтобы съехать на мостик, тот или иной. Дело в том, что аллеи в лесу, прорубленные двести лет назад к мостикам по указанию архитектора Баженова, негусто, но для автотранспорта совершенно непролазно заросли за минувшие годы деревьями, высокими и тонкими.
Отправившись однажды в конце ноября 1984 года на очередную прогулку по Царицынскому лесу, я вышел на склон оврага и оторопел, увидев, что с мостиков — с обоих! — исчезли перила, ограждавшие слева и справа проезжую часть на них. Куда они делись? Быстрым шагом направился я к ближайшему мостику и, взойдя на него, обнаружил, что перила валяются слева и справа от него на дне оврага. Та же картина наблюдалась и возле соседнего мостика.
На эти мостики, напомнил я сам себе, не въедешь на автомобиле. Но если не безумный автолюбитель, крушащий все и вся на своем пути, то кто же, спрашивается, опрокинул с мостиков, снес единым махом с них в овраг перила — тяжеленные, неподъемные?
Эти перила, вернее громоздкие ограждения, были сооружениями фундаментальными, ставившимися на века, как, впрочем, и Все, что ставилось Баженовым в пределах Царицынского дворцового комплекса... Однако вот они, валяются на дне оврага, состоящие из витиеватых решеток и пяти тумб — каждое.
Ранее — да буквально вчера или позавчера! — тумбы размещаюсь вдоль бровок мостиков на расстоянии полутора метров меж-% ними. От тумбы к тумбе тянулась, сплетаясь в витиеватые УзоРы, железная решетка. Любая из тумб являла собой массивный, метровой высоты и полуметровой ширины, сборный блок, составленный из пяти кругляшей тесаного белого камня, насаженный на толстый металлический штырь. Нижний конец штыря был, само собой, надежно вцементирован в кладку моста.
Но сейчас короткие обломки штырей торчали из оснований белых раскиданных в овраге тумб, точно гнилые корни зубов. Какая непонятная свирепая сила выломала тумбы, вырвала, что называется, с мясом из мостовой кладки? Прошлась, словно бульдозером, по мостикам?
Я пригляделся повнимательнее к ограждениям, валяющимся в овраге, и удивленно присвистнул, поднимая брови.
Тумбы, эти совершенно неподъемные болванки, лежали на дне оврага аккуратными рядами. Слева от мостика — один аккуратный ряд, справа — другой. Точь-в-точь то же самое — возле второго мостика. Как по линейке, вытянулись под мостами по глубокому дну оврага четыре идеально ровные решетчатые железные ленты, перемежавшиеся тумбами. Решетки, стягивающие тумбы в собственно ограждение, остались при падении на дно оврага целехонькими. Они нигде, даже на сантиметр, не прогнулись!
Я пялился на натуральное это чудо дивное, недоуменно чесал рукою в затылке и лихорадочно искал ответ на вопрос: что произошло здесь? Каким образом такое вообще могло произойти? Что за титанические хулиганы-тяжеловесы пошалили тут? И каким манером удалось им уронить ограждения с мостиков вниз с такою редкостною сноровкою, я бы даже сказал — с артистизмом? Ведь ясно было видно: все тумбы оказались сметенными с мостиков в овраг синхронно, одновременно.
Впечатление было таким, будто некая грозная сила единым махом оторвала тяжеленнейшие эти перила от мостовой кладки. Поддерживаемые ею, перила как бы привзлетели над мостами и... И в плавном осторожном пируэте, дабы ни в коем случае не повредить железные ограды, сами вниз с мостов спрыгнули. Причем спрыгнули недавно!
Напоминаю, обнаружил я эти «самоспрыгнувшие перила» в Царицынском лесу в 1984 году — в самом конце ноября. Тогда на лугу , раскинувшемся перед Царицынским лесом, метрах в двухстах от оврага, завершалось строительство тоннеля метрополитена. Метростроевцы прокладывали линию подземки грамотно, культурно. Деревню Баженовку они снесли, конечно, вчистую, но вот раскинувшийся рядом с Баженовкой лес не тронули. Они в лесу вообще не появлялись, ибо прекрасно знали, что лес этот является государственной заповедной зоной. Я не обнаружил никаких следов пребывания метростроевцев с их экскаваторами, тракторами и тягачами в районе оврага и мостиков.
Что же получается? С вертолета, что ли, обезумевшие пилоты трос с рельсом спускали и крушили им перила на мостах?!
...В романе Клиффорда Саймака «Заповедник гоблинов» обыг-рывается тема некоего моста, под которым водится нечисть. Не вдаваясь в детали, скажу, что гоблины в романе обещают разрушить мост. Отправной точкой художественных фантазий Саймака послужили английские предания о маленьком народце холмов.
В русском фольклоре, как и в английском, тоже циркулируют из века в век и из сюжета в сюжет рассказы о леших, обитающих под мостами: «Там, где мост в лесу, обычно водятся лешие...» Во всех этих рассказах есть немаловажная черточка, деталь: когда люди начинают беспокоить леших — к примеру, открывают возле моста придорожный трактир, лешие тут же покидают насиженное ими, но потревоженное людьми место. Причем они, когда уходят, разносят мост в клочья или, по крайней мере, оставляют сильно поврежденным. По мосту прокатывается нечто вроде землетрясения, локализованного строго в одной-единственной точке — в месте нахождения этого самого моста.
Предположим, в таких рассказах есть рациональное зерно. Примем рассказы за рабочую гипотезу. И тогда странное аномальное явление — феномен неподъемных «самоспрыгнувших перил» — обретает объяснение, перестает быть неразгадываемой загадкой.
Кто сбросил перила с мостиков? И, сбросив, разложил их по дну оврага аккуратными линиями?
Те самые гномы, что поселились под мостиками сразу же после того, как мостики были отстроены в овраге; ну, понравились они гномам — и все тут.
Те самые, что однажды уже прервали, застопорили грандиозную новостройку в этих местах почти ровно двести лет тому назад-Те самые, у которых, видимо, пороху не хватило законсервировать куда более мощное строительство, оснащенное по последнему слову техники XX века, — прокладку линии метрополитена.
Вспомним легенду Царицынского леса. Почему не было завершено возведение царской резиденции? Какие силы помешали достроить дворец? Проходит двести лет, и вот на окраине тишайшего леса вновь появляются строители. Шум, гвалт, гам. Рычат экскаваторы, с ревом носятся туда-сюда рядом с лесом самосвалы.
Именно в это время некая сила уродует мосты над оврагом. Непонятным, совершенно фантастическим образом она сносит перила с них. То есть ведет себя так, как и положено вести, если верить легендам, нечистой силе, обитающей под мостами и всполошенной людьми.
В заключение хочу привести факт, известный лишь жителям нашего отдаленного окраинного московского района.
Новая линия метрополитена, ведущая из центра столицы в этот район, была торжественно, с великой помпой открыта спустя ровно месяц после того, как перила «спрыгнули» с мостов, — 31 декабря 1984 года. Ее торжественное открытие показали в тот же день вечером в новогодней программе по Всесоюзному телевидению. А на следующий день, ранним утром 1 января 1985 года, линию втихую, без всякой помпы прикрыли.
Случилось уникальнейшее в истории Московского метрополитена событие. Чрезвычайное происшествие высшего порядка под землей. Машинист электропоезда, мчавшегося в седьмом часу утра
1 января по подземке, с ужасом увидел, как прямо у него на глазах лопается стена тоннеля. Обошлось, к счастью, без человеческих жертв, но на авральный ремонт было затрачено более месяца.
Произошла же авария... Вот в том-то и фокус! Она произошла в том отрезке тоннеля, который тянется непосредственно вдоль Царицынского леса.
Возникает вопрос — кстати, не такой уж и дикий, каким он может показаться на первый взгляд: не та же самая сила, что снесла перила с мостиков в лесу, поорудовала и здесь, в подземке? Однако, в отличие от мостиков, сила эта не сумела по-настоящему существенно повредить тоннель, построенный людьми, несмотря на все свои старания. Особо прочные железобетонные стены, монолитный фундамент... М-да, это вам, братцы гномы, не перилами с мостов швыряться.
Фольклорные первоисточники, повторяю, утверждают: если колонию маленьких человечков, живущих под мостами, начина-ют тревожить люди, гномы переселяются в другие места, оставляя позади себя разрушенные мосты.
В Царицынском лесу мосты оказались-таки повреждены неведомой таинственной силой. А вскоре недалеко от тех мостиков лопнул тоннель подземки.
- Место это, бесспорно, обладает огромной энергетикой. Не хорошей и не плохой, просто другой, — считает Евгения Алехина, работающая в музее. — Мы здесь ощущаем себя словно в ином мире. Такими инопланетянами. Как Сталкер в «зоне» у Тарковского. Дар это или наказание — никто не знает.
